    CNC MACHINING

    WHAT IS CNC MACHINING

Automated manufacturing and industrial applications utilize CNC, standing for Computer Numerical Control. CNC Machining is a manufacturing process that employs computerized controls and tools to remove layers of material from a stock piece (the blank) to create a custom-designed component.

CNC machining is a versatile method capable of working with various materials such as metals, woods, plastic bits, glass, foam, and other composites. That versatility makes it a widely applied technique in the manufacturing sector, including FOW Mould. Telecommunications, which requires higher tolerances compared to other industries, is among the many industries that use CNC machining.

The CNC machining process involves four primary stages, concisely outlined below:
1.Model Design: The stock model serves as the foundation for product             designs and is typically created using CAD software. Subsequently,                 these instructions are transmitted to the production line.
2.Conversion: This is where the computer-aided design that has been              fed into the machine is extracted from the generated code to create              the custom-designed part in question.
3.Machine Preparation: Before the CNC program is run, the machine                has to be prepared and made ready for operation. This involves fixing            the necessary parts, adding spindles, the drill bits, and end mills,                    among other accessories.
4.Execution: Once every part is in place, the machine can execute the              program, making use of all the tools to produce a product that is in                line with the instructions being fed into it.

    CNC MACHINING MATERIALS OPTIONS

The quality of the steel used is a crucial factor that greatly affects the quality of the final product. That is why our company chooses to source our steel from renowned brands, such as ASSAB, LKM, and Gröditz. After the steel is delivered to our factory, we conduct a thorough analysis using a spectrograph to ensure that it meets our stringent standards. This ensures that the molds we produce possess exceptional quality and durability, making them among the best on the market.

    TYPES OF CNC MACHINING

CNC machining is a highly versatile manufacturing process that is widely implemented across various industrial sectors. The process involves using computer-controlled machines to shape and form materials according to specific designs and specifications. Generally, there are three main types of CNC machining methods used, which include:

    CNC DRILLING

Drilling is the process where holes are made into a hard material in an accurate and precise shape. Most times, these holes are cylindrical, and they are made when the CNC machine feeds a rotating drill bit perpendicularly into a workpieces’ surface. This produced identical holes that are vertically aligned with equal diameters depending on the size of the drill bit. Processes that make use of CNC drilling are clue counter boxing, reaming, countersinking, and tapping.

    CNC MILLING

During this stage, the custom CNC machine employs rotating multipoint cutting tools to remove materials from the workpiece. The material is fed into the machine, and the cutting tools are set into motion, moving in the same direction as the workpiece. Operations that utilize this process include face milling and peripheral milling.

    CNC TURNING

This is the process where a CNC machine employs the use of single-point cutting tools to get rid of materials from a rotating workpiece. The machine feeds the cutting tool in a linear motion manner along the workpiece’s rotating surface. Unwanted material is removed until the desired diameter is attained. This process is used to make cylindrical components like threads, tapers, and slots.
